Ms. J K Rowling w as born on July 31^st, 1965 in Chipping Sodbury, Gloucestershire, England. Her given name at birth was Joanne Kathleen. When Ms. Rowling w as 26 years old , she moved to Portugal to be an English teacher. Ms. Rowling said many times that she loved teaching English. She often taught in  the afternoons and evenings  she wanted to be free to work on her writing during the mornings. During this period, she began working on a story about a “wizard.” Ms. Rowling earned över $400 million for ber first three Harry Potter books before 7.000.
